When you use the Sankalp application, we may collect the following categories of information:
- Spiritual & Astrological Details (Yajaman Profile): Full name, Gotra, Varna (optional), date of birth, time of birth, place of birth, and preferred deity (Ishta Devta). This data is strictly used to formulate authentic, personalized Vedic Sanskrit Sankalp mantras.
- Family Member Profiles: Names, relationships, Gotra, and optional profile photos of family members to include in collective rituals.
- Location Information: Precise GPS coordinates and timezone data, collected only with your permission, solely to calculate real-time Vedic Panchang parameters (Tithi, Nakshatra, Yoga, Karana, Rahu Kaal, and Auspicious Muhurtas) for your location.
- Account Credentials: Email address and encrypted password when you choose to create a cloud Yajaman account to synchronize data across devices.
- Device Identifiers & Usage Data: Device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, IP address, and interaction metrics. For free-tier users who grant tracking consent, advertising identifiers (such as Apple's IDFA or Google Advertising ID) are used to provide personalized ads.
- Purchase & Subscription Information: Transaction histories and entitlement statuses processed securely via RevenueCat and the Apple App Store / Google Play Store. We do not receive or store your credit card or financial account numbers.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To generate astronomically accurate Vedic Panchang calculations and personalized Sanskrit Sankalp verses.
- To synchronize your Yajaman profiles, ritual history, and family members across devices if you are signed in.
- To manage your Pro subscription access and verify active entitlements.
- To serve contextual or personalized advertisements to free-tier users, measure ad performance, and optimize application stability.
- To maintain, protect, and enhance the security and performance of our services.
3. Data Used for Tracking & App Tracking Transparency (ATT)
Apple App Store & Privacy Notice: In accordance with Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework and App Privacy requirements, data collected from this app may be used for tracking purposes when explicit permission is granted by the user on iOS.
Under Apple guidelines, "tracking" refers to linking data collected from our app about you or your device (such as user ID, device ID, or advertising identifier) with third-party data from other companies' apps, websites, or offline properties for targeted advertising or advertising measurement purposes.
Tracking Data Categories:
- Identifiers: Device Advertising Identifier (IDFA on iOS, GAID on Android), Device ID, and IP Address.
- Usage Data: Ad interaction data, impression data, and product interaction metrics collected via Google AdMob.
Your Choices and Controls:
- App Tracking Transparency (ATT) Prompt: On iOS 14.5 and later, before any advertising identifier is accessed, Sankalp presents the system App Tracking Transparency dialog requesting your permission ("This identifier will be used to deliver personalized ads to you.").
- If You Tap "Allow": Google AdMob may collect and link your device's IDFA and usage data to serve personalized advertisements tailored to your interests and measure campaign effectiveness across third-party apps and websites.
- If You Tap "Ask App not to Track" (or Deny): We will not access your IDFA or track you across apps or websites. You will continue to have full access to Sankalp features, and free-tier users will receive only contextual or non-personalized advertisements.
- Pro Subscribers: Users with an active Pro subscription enjoy an entirely ad-free experience. The Google AdMob SDK is not initialized, and zero advertising or tracking data is collected or shared.
- Revoking Tracking Permission: You can enable or disable tracking permissions at any time on your iOS device by navigating to Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking > Sankalp.
4. Data Storage & Security
All cloud-synchronized data is transmitted over secure TLS/HTTPS connections and stored within authenticated cloud database infrastructure (Convex). Local data cached on your device is stored in secure app storage. We enforce strict access controls and do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties.

You have full control over your personal data at all times:
- In-App Account Deletion: You can permanently delete your Yajaman account and all associated cloud records (including user profiles, saved family members, and ritual histories) directly within the app by navigating to Profile > Delete Account & Data.
- Data Rectification & Export: You can update or export your spiritual profile details directly within the Sankalp app at any time.
7. Children's Privacy
Our service is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under 13.
